Digger’s back, but not as Celyn anymore. She’s back on the streets living her normal life, or as normal as it can get. She’s still a thief, but without her partner Tegen. One night though, she’s captured and thrown into jail. This was expected and she wasn’t surprised when it happened but what did surprise her was that she was thrown into a cell with Durrel Decath. The same Durrel that had helped her escape when she was fleeing Gerse. At first she thought it was a joke being played on her but she soon learns that he was accused of murdering his new wife Talth Ceid.Talth had many enemies and Durrel claimed it wasn’t him. Digger, feeling in debt to him, agrees to help solve the murder. She didn’t know what she was getting herself into, as she’s thrown into the middle of a huge problem- and a Nobs problem at that. Now she’s caught up in a noble family’s affairs, and her own family problems. Her brother won't leave her alone and continues to ask her to work for him since she can see magic. She knows she would rather die than work for him but he starts to make it impossible for her to ignore him. At the same time can’t help but have strange feelings for Durrel. Now she can’t decide if she can trust him or if he really is a murderer.


Once again I loved it! I just think these two books are awesome. I love how the books start out really fast paced and then slow down a bit. That way it keeps you on edge and you’re always guessing what’s going to happen. This book had a lot of twists and you’ll never guess who the murderer was until really close to the end. And the ending was amazing! You’ll hate it but love it at the same time. I definitely think she’ll write at least one more book. I really hope she does.

Digger is just a regular street thief, until one night a job goes wrong and she’s forced to leave behind Tegen, her partner. She’s soon forced to flee Gerse for fear of the dreaded Greenmen. Luckily she finds herself saved by a group of slightly drunken Nobs led by Durrel Decath. She uses the name Celyn Contrare and pretends to have run away from the Celystra that her brother sent her to. The nobles are more than happy to take her with them and she soon finds herself offering to look after Lady Merista, the youngest girl in the group when she goes home with her parents. She’s as safe as she could be, or so she thought. Lord Daul, Merista’s uncle, knows Digger’s secrets and threatens to tell everyone if she doesn’t work for him. Now Celyn must find three things in the home of the nobles for Lord Daul or be put to death. She has no idea why he would want those things but she's left with no choice. Still grieving Tegen's death, Digger has to become a thief again, not a lazy lady-in-waiting. She knows picking sides can be fatal for a thief but she finds that she might be forced to.

I gave Star Crossed five stars because I thought it was a really cool book. It had a lot of action and I loved the characters. The beginning of the book was really intense and exciting but it did get a little slow. It picks up a few chapters later and I could hardly put it down. I really liked the book because it had magic in it but also because Digger could take care of herself and wasn’t totally helpless. Overall I loved it and the sequel to it.

Love is looked for and wanted by everyone. It can be splendid and wonderful. If everything is going wrong in your life feeling loved is the most amazing thing you can hope.

Lady Eleanor Rodriguez, Countess of San Jaime (Ellie) at age sixteen was not looking for love. It was quite possibly the last thing on her mind.  All  Ellie wanted was for her father, Sir Arthur Hutton, to stop with his quest to make gold out of lead and just live with her in a happy peaceful life, but she knew her father would never go for that and that is why Ellie was stuck in the house of Lord Mountjoy's  during the time of court.

William Lacey, Earl of Dorset (Will) at age eighteen was trying to help his family survive after the death of his father left them with little money and many problems. Will needed a wealthy lady that would marry him to save his land, his family from destitution, and him from being bitter at such a young age. Will went to court looking for a lady of wealth. He wanted this marriage to have love, but he could live without it if he could just save his family.

This two lives did not plan to meet again after the last time, when Will kick Ellie and her father off his land for the alchemy four years before, but when Will arrives at court she is the first lady he meets. Will not recognizing her, and knowing she was a maid with no money, was transfixed by her beauty and her intelligence. Ellie on the other hand was angry and scared that he was there because she knew that once he found out who she was he would not be so kind to her with his words. 

Soon they both realize that they have fallen for each other, but they did not believe anything could become of this infatuation. What will Will choose Lady Jane, a rich woman he also meets at court, who would solve all his money problems by their marriage? Or will Will choose love with Ellie and decide that is better than anything money can buy? Will Ellie even have him if he did want her after the way he treated her and her father just a few years ago? Will Lady Jane even want Will? Or would she rather James, one of the earl's brothers? Will love win out or the powers of money take over?

I truly enjoyed The Other Countess and I believe that anyone to read it after would like it, also. The different scandals that are going on will make you want to read the whole book in one night. Love is such a thing to look for that when it hits us in the face we can do nothing but try and hold onto it.

If you've read any of the other Touch books...I'm pretty sure you'll love and hate this new installment in the Touch Series. ")

Camelia has only ever known the difference between her and the world. Growing up not knowing and knowing, Camelia has a near-death experience that changes her future forever.

In this new installment, Camelia starts hearing voices. Voices telling her she would be better off dead, she's a fool and doesn't deserve to live. If only that was the only problem. Ben, her ex-boyfriend, is seeing someone new. Camelia tries to act like it doesn't bother her ,but Ben is comeone special because they both share a secret noone can know. To make matters worse...Ben could possibly be Cammie's soulmate yet, it seems far too late. Camelia has special powers. Powers that make her see things. Premonitions of a sort. When Cammie starts sculting a figure skater, she doesn't know what to do. With the creepy voices getting harder to tune out. It's only a matter of time before something goes wrong....again.

Read Deadly Little Voices.....a book that will keep you hungry for more! XP

I rate Deadly Little Voices...3 Stars because I was so disappointed with the ending....actually with everything really. I enjoyed the first installments but when I got to the climax of this story...I just about wanted to shot myself! I'm so sad! I did like seeing that Cammie is jealous and it's obvious there's still something between Ben and her. Hopefully in the next, and final(?), book there is hope and happiness!

February Book Club Book

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour Reviewed by Molly Varney

Amy didn't think her life was anything special. She didn't think her life could change drastically on a sunny Saturday morning. But when she's in a car accident with her father, who dies, she can't seem to believe what's all happening. Her mother decided to move to Connecticut, away from all of the memories of their old life. Amy stays at the house by herself to finish her junior year in high school while Charlie, her brother, was shipped off to a rehabilitation facility. At the end of the school year, Amy's mother calls to let her know that she wanted her to drive their old car from Calfiornia to Connecticut. She told Amy that one of their old childhood friends would be driving her. His name was Roger. The trip was originally supposed to be only four days, but as Amy got more comfortable with Roger they decided to see America. The month Amy spent alone in the house, she got used to ignoring eveyone around her. But with Roger she feels like she could talk to him and that he understood. Now Amy had to overcome that day, and with Roger's help, she felt like she just might be able too.

I thought this was a really good book. I gave it four stars because I think it started a little slow. However, as I continued to read it I found myself not wanting to stop. I liked that it wasn't totally cliche, where the boy falls in love with the girl when he first sees her. It was a really interesting story, especially when they drove through Kansas. I was laughing on a couple parts because they didn't know about all the resturaunts. I thought it was a good read and it made me want to go on a road trip.

Is what they say true, do opposites attract? That is just what Marisa is trying to figure out. When her best friend, Alicia, gets in a car accident with her cheating boyfriend things take a whole different spin. Marisa never liked Roberto, Alicia's boyfriend, and when Alicia found a picture she was pleased she finally had a good reason to beat him up. During the scuffle however Marisa and Rene, Roberto's best friend, accidentally switch cell phones. She knows that she needs to go and give back his phone, but doesn't want to have to see Roberto. Marisa being a strong headed fighter she is went to give Rene is phone back. Rene is a nerd who doesn't like fighting at all and was the one who pulled Marisa off Roberto in the hospital. Will they fall in love? Will their extreme opposite personalities attract? Or will Marisa just return the phone and never think about him again? What will happen?

Personally I thought this book was alright. I didn't really like Marisa because I thought she was just flat out rude. The story behind Alicia and her was good though and I enjoyed the fact that she stuck up for her best friend. When I saw this book I thought that the story was going to be a lot different. I think that you should read it yourself to really come up with opinion on it, but to me this book was mediocre. I will probably read Gary Soto's other book The Afterlife even though I didn't like this book very much.

I gave Bloodlines 5[6] stars because...I absolutely loved and enjoyed this series so much! I loved Vampire Academy,etc. But I was devastated upon hearing the end of the beautiful series. So when I heard about this I was really excited..because I fell in love with Adrian..although his bad personality put aside...he deserves to find happiness..just like Rose did! && to see someone like Adrian mature on so many levels just makes me happy and gives me hope! I couldn't put the book down and almost cried when I realized I had a few pages left! The way Mead writes is heaven to me! Welp enough about my love for Adrian...seriously this book will not disappoint.
