Kings of Clonmel -- a review by Ian Ziglinski

The Kings of Clonmel

Book 8 in Ranger's Apprentice Series
by John Flanagan

***** stars

Will Treaty is back, along with all his friends. Will, Halt, and Horace have now been chosen to create a secret assault group for missions both far and close. Their very first mission is in the kingdom of Clonmel, Halt's very own home country! Their mission is to stop a religious cult of murderous thieves before they take complete control over Clonmel and begin their "religious" assault on Araluen. Will is still as resourceful as ever, Halt is starting to think he's getting too old for the job, and Horace, as always, is looking for a real fight throughout the book, and boy does he get one! Or two!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book just as much as all the others in the series. Maybe its because of the sense of good vs. evil, or even the slight righteous infliction of retribution of wrongs committed in the past... I gave this book five stars, not only because its a great book, but because of the morals that it presents in such an attractive way. I highly suggest this book to anyone who likes some good old fashioned sword fighting mixed with strategic planning, by three highly trained warriors, to save a country from total takeover!
